Our top-rated performers in England
This week we’ve been revealing our Team of the Season for each of Europe’s big five leagues across our social channels. It’s something that always causes plenty of debate so here are the ground rules: We take our list of the average FotMob player ratings for the season and work out a team with the top rated player in each position placed into a standard 4-3-3 formation. To qualify for the list the player must have featured in at least 50% of his side’s league games.
In England, that has produced the team you see below.
Only the top four sides in the final league standings are represented in our XI with Champions City and runners-up Liverpool clearly dominating our individual player ratings this season.
City’s midfield lynchpin Rodri came out with the best average – a 7.95 across his 33 appearances. An average that only just tops traditionally high-scoring stats man Trent Alexender-Arnold who ended with a career-high FotMob rating of 7.94.
Spurs pairing Heung-min Son and Harry Kane provided a grand total of 56 goals and assists between them this season meaning either one, or both of them, were directly involved in 81% of the goals Spurs scored. Which should justify their selection in our statistical-driven side!
If you disagree with our selections, we’ll see you in the comments!
