It’s nearly back! The UEFA Champions League group stage draw will be streamed live today at 18:00 CET / 1:00pm ET from Monaco on UEFA’s website and YouTube page.
Format
One team from each pot will be selected to make up the eight groups. Teams from the same country cannot be drawn into the same groups. Pot 1 contains last year’s Champions League winners Real Madrid, the Europa League champions Atletico Madrid, and the champions of the top six associations based on UEFA coefficient. Pots 2-4 are seeded based on UEFA club coefficients. The four pots are as follows:
Pot one: Real Madrid, Atlético Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Manchester City, Juventus, PSG, Lokomotiv Moscow
Pot two: Borussia Dortmund, Porto, Manchester United, Shakhtar Donetsk, Benfica, Napoli, Tottenham, Roma
Pot three: Liverpool, Schalke, Lyon, Monaco, Ajax, CSKA Moscow, PSV Eindhoven, Valencia
Pot four: Viktoria Plzen, Club Brugge, Galatasaray, Young Boys, Internazionale, Hoffenheim, Red Star Belgrade, AEK Athens
The first group stage matches will be played the 18-19 of September.
